Our boutique, senior living and day service facility was carefully designed to ensure that our residents and guests feel as comfortable as they did in their own homes while also enjoying amenities and services someone would expect in a high class hotel.

With only 31 resident and day service suites, we are intentionally sized to accommodate only a select number of residents and guests. Our residents and day service guests will be on a first name basis with all our staff and they will feel welcomed, loved, and part of our community.

Whether someone is living with us full-time, staying on a temporary basis, or as a day service guest, they will all have access to the same level of service, amenities, and support.

It has been said that the kitchen is the heart of the home and that remains true at The Kindred House of Ottumwa. The Kindred Kitchen is where your day begins, where you break bread

with family and neighbors, and is the social hub of the community. Residents of Kindred House enjoy three included meals per day which can be enjoyed at the Kindred Kitchen or delivered to their residence.

Our meals are homemade, prepared fresh, and cooked in house to ensure the highest quality of ingredients and nutritional value. We pride ourselves on our homestyle cooking and strive

to satisfy all our residents with a robust menu that continues to satisfy meal after meal, month after month.

We provide a monthly menu plan to all residents with an outline of our daily hot meals as well available alternatives to the preplanned meals.

We offer a robust activities program that has been curated for both individual and group activities. All our daily scheduled activities are person-centered, curated to the interests of the residents, hands on and engaging.

We encourage our residents to participate in the various activities available throughout the day as a way to remain socially engaged, physically active, and mentally stimulated. As an example, our activities include interactive games, arts and crafts, needle work, painting, scrapbooking, bowling, fieldtrips, and glamour days among many others.

We carefully curate a package based on the needs each individual that includes their desired apartment size, personalized medical care plan, as well as housekeeping, laundry, meals, activities, and amenities.
